Description

Ziricote (*Cordia dodecandra*) is an exotic hardwood from Central America, particularly native to Mexico and Belize, renowned for its stunning grain patterns that often resemble landscapes or abstract art. The wood features a rich palette of dark brown, black, and grey tones, often interwoven with lighter streaks that create intricate spider-webbing or “marbled” effects, making it one of the most visually striking woods available. Ziricote is dense and moderately hard, with a smooth, fine texture that polishes beautifully to a high natural luster.

Due to its density and stability, Ziricote is a favoured choice for luxury furniture, musical instruments (especially guitars), cabinetry, and decorative veneers. While it can be challenging to work with because of its density, it holds fine details exceptionally well, making it ideal for intricate designs and high-end applications. Its natural beauty, combined with durability and rot resistance, has made Ziricote a sought-after wood for projects that require both visual impact and lasting quality.
