Grass Tree Root wood, also known as Xanthorrhoea or Blackboy, originates from the Grass Trees native to Australia. These unique trees are known for their slow growth and long lifespan, often taking decades or even centuries to mature. The root wood of the Grass Tree is particularly prized for its dense, hard, and highly textured characteristics, featuring a striking contrast of dark and light tones that create an exotic and eye-catching appearance.

This extraordinary wood is primarily used in high-end woodworking projects where its unique aesthetic can be fully appreciated. Its exceptional hardness and density make it suitable for decorative items, bespoke furniture, and intricate wood-turning projects. The natural beauty of Grass Tree Root wood, with its dramatic grain patterns and rich colour variations, also makes it a popular choice for creating luxurious inlays, knife handles, and other artisanal crafts.
