Quilted Maple is a distinctive type of wood known for its remarkable “quilted” grain pattern, which gives it a unique, rippled texture resembling ripples on water. This aesthetic charm makes Quilted Maple highly sought after in the woodworking and crafting community.

Originating primarily from the North American region, particularly in the United States and Canada, Quilted Maple is not a specific species of maple, but rather a description of the figure in the wood. It’s typically found in the softer maple species, like Acer macrophyllum (Bigleaf Maple) and sometimes in Acer saccharum (Sugar Maple).

Quilted Maple is widely used for a variety of purposes. Due to its stunning appearance, it is a popular choice for making musical instruments, especially the bodies of guitars and violins, where its visual appeal is greatly prized. Additionally, it’s used in fine furniture, cabinetry, and decorative woodturning, bringing a touch of luxury and elegance to these items.

Exotic Hardwoods UK Ltd, known as a leading supplier in the industry, offers a wide range of Quilted Maple and other exotic hardwoods. Their inventory caters to both large-scale commercial needs and individual crafting projects, highlighting their expertise and extensive selection in the field of exotic hardwoods. They provide a valuable resource for woodworkers and craftsmen seeking high-quality Quilted Maple and other exotic woods for their projects.
