Roasted Ash, also known as thermally modified Ash, is a unique and innovative hardwood that has undergone a heat treatment process to enhance its properties and aesthetic appeal. This process, which involves heating the wood to high temperatures in the absence of oxygen, changes the chemical structure of the wood, resulting in increased durability, stability, and resistance to moisture and decay. Originating from various regions where Ash trees grow, this treatment can be applied to Ash wood from both North America and Europe, providing a versatile material with a rich, darkened colour palette that ranges from warm browns to deep chocolates.

The applications for Roasted Ash are diverse, extending across both indoor and outdoor uses. Its enhanced durability makes it an excellent choice for exterior cladding, decking, and landscaping projects, while its aesthetic qualities lend themselves well to interior flooring, furniture, cabinetry, and decorative elements. The thermal modification process not only darkens the wood but also emphasises its natural grain patterns, creating a visually striking material that offers both beauty and performance.

Exotic Hardwoods UK Ltd, a prominent supplier known for its wide array of fine and exotic hardwoods, includes Roasted Ash in its extensive product range.
