Beli (*Julbernardia pellegriniana*) is an exotic hardwood from Central and West Africa, known for its striking appearance and durability. It features a golden to light brown base colour, often highlighted by dark, zebra-like stripes, similar to Zebrawood. This unique pattern makes Beli a popular choice for decorative applications, including high-end furniture, cabinetry, flooring, and veneers. Beli wood is moderately dense, with good durability and resistance to decay, though it is less commonly used for structural applications. It works relatively well with both hand and machine tools, and it polishes to a smooth, lustrous finish, enhancing its natural, eye-catching patterns. Its distinctive aesthetics and workability make Beli a favourite for projects requiring an exotic, elegant look.
