Chacate Preto (Dalbergia melanoxylon family wood)
Chacate Preto is a rare and highly prized African hardwood, known for its deep, rich brown to almost black tones, often accented with subtle golden streaks. Dense, fine-grained, and naturally lustrous, it is an excellent choice for fine turning, carving, and luxury woodworking projects.
The block you are purchasing is rough-sawn, ready for shaping and finishing according to your needs. The second photo provided shows an example of a finished turning piece, demonstrating the exceptional beauty this timber reveals once worked and polished.
