The second photo shows an example of the finished turning piece. Please note that the product you are purchasing is a rough-sawn block of wood, intended for your own turning and woodworking projects
Tamboti, often referred to as African Sandalwood, is a rare and highly decorative hardwood native to southern Africa. The heartwood ranges from golden-brown to dark chocolate, frequently marked with darker streaks and an attractive ripple or fiddleback figure. Its fine texture and high natural lustre give it a luxurious appearance.
Renowned for its fragrance and density, Tamboti is prized for fine furniture, veneers, decorative turnery, and luxury items. It machines and polishes beautifully but must be worked with care, as the sawdust can be irritant.
⚠️ Note: As a naturally grown exotic hardwood, pieces may feature minor cracks, irregular shapes, or movement. These are part of the timber’s unique beauty and character.
