Violet Rosewood (commonly referring to select species of Dalbergia such as Dalbergia cearensis or Dalbergia violacea) is a luxurious and visually arresting hardwood prized for its deep purples, rich violets, and dark brown tones, often accented by fine black striping or figure. When sliced as a double knife cut veneer, it allows for greater precision, symmetry, and yield, ideal for decorative matching techniques like bookmatching or slip matching.
This veneer showcases the natural luster and dramatic grain patterns that make Violet Rosewood so sought after in fine furniture, cabinetry, musical instruments, and luxury interior accents. Double knife cutting ensures a cleaner surface with minimal tear-out, ideal for those seeking high-end, detailed applications.
Due to the unique nature of the wood, each sheet may vary in tone and figure, and minor surface checks or natural inclusions can occasionally be present. These are considered part of its charm and authenticity.
Violet Rosewood veneer offers a striking balance of rarity, elegance, and bold colour, perfect for premium craftsmanship and refined aesthetic expression.
